Health and Safety Policy Statement | BoostPay


  1. Introduction 

BoostPay’s senior management is committed to providing safe healthy workplaces for all its employees, subcontractors and any other stakeholders including the public, and those who are impacted by our business activities as well as meeting all legal and regulatory obligations. 

This policy statement sets out the aims, objectives and processes and control measures in place to help achieve this and highlights those responsible for implementation. 


  1. Scope 

This policy is applicable to all BoostPay employees, subcontractors, visitors and any persons operating under our supervision and instruction. It should be implemented on all sites on which BoostPay are present either as main contractor or subcontractor and in all occupied office spaces. 

This policy is based on the principals of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all secondary legislation pertaining to it, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) and guidance issued by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). 

BoostPay is committed to occupational health and safety, the reduction of risk, accidents and ill health, so far as is reasonably practicable, and to the promotion of a safe working environment. This policy is integral to operational management and is supported by the provision of competent occupational health and safety advice. 


  1. Health and Safety responsibilities 

The BoostPay Directors are ultimately responsible for this policy and Health and Safety. BoostPay’s Health and Safety and Compliance teams, are responsible for implementing the policies and procedures of the management system. To confirm compliance with regulations and ensure operations are in line with best practice, Independent, competent advice is provided by third parties.

 

  1. Implementation 

To achieve and exceed Health and Safety aims and objectives, the management system provides the mechanism to implement measures including but not limited to the below: 

  • Identifying all stakeholders and their requirements relating to Health and Safety 

  • Identifying hazards, assessing the associated risks and implanting control measures to eliminate, reduce or control the impact of these risks 

  • Appointing qualified, skilled, experienced and competent staff in all positions and ensuring that tasks are allocated to the correct individuals 

  • Providing supervision, training and guidance and disseminating knowledge throughout the workforce

  • Ensuring that technical competence is maintained through the provision of refresher training and identifying opportunities to upskill the workforce 

  • Establishing, providing and maintaining safe systems of work 

  • Identifying high risk activities and ensuring they are managed correctly e.g. working at height, control of substances hazardous to health 

  • Establishing and implementing minimum standards 

  • Worker consultation on Health and Safety matters to help improve processes and procedures 

  • Promoting a safety-first culture and encouraging the reporting of incidents, accidents, near misses and positive interventions 

  • Ensuring sufficient funds and resources to comply with this policy and work safely 

  • Applying due diligence to the supply chain to ensure that all suppliers and stakeholders comply to BoostPay’s minimum expected standards 

  • Identifying all applicable legislation and ensuring that the policies and procedures of the management system are design to achieve compliance 

  • Regularly reporting on performance resulting from audits, inspections and data analysis and implanting improvement measures 


  1. Monitoring and measuring 

Health and Safety performance against the aims and objectives will be monitored and measured using several Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including but not limited to: 


  • Continued achievement of accreditations and certifications of the management system 

  • Hours lost due to accidents 

  • RIDDOR reportable accidents 

  • Accident Incidence Rates (AIR) and Accident Frequency Rates (AFR) 

  • Number of inspections/audits carried out 

  • Number of positive interventions occurrences reported 

Performance will be reported monthly to the BoostPay directors.


  1. Communication, approval and review 

BoostPay is committed to communicating, engaging and consulting with our employees and ensuring that everybody is aware of their individual responsibilities and commitments to help the business achieve its objectives and fulfil its obligations. This policy is communicated to all employees as part of the onboarding process and is available on the Company SharePoint as well as being available to all interested parties on the company website. 

This policy was written by BoostPay’s Senior Health and Safety Manager and has been reviewed and approved by the business owners, who have ultimate responsibility for its implementation. It will be reviewed annually or sooner should circumstances merit to ensure it is relevant, effective and reflects any changes to the business or its stakeholders. This policy is effective immediately and supersedes all previous versions.
